GIFTS OF SERVICE

We are called to use the many gifts God has given us to fulfill what the Holy Spirit has placed in our hearts. In serving God's community locally and in the world beyond our own neighborhood, we involve our congregation in activities that address peace, human dignity and rights, social, economic, and environmental justice.

We invite you to share your hands and hearts with others who need what we can offer.

To request more information about our community service activities, please call the church office: 925-934-4208.

Extended Family Program: Church members and friends help Extended Family project serves the homeless
to serve homeless people in Contra Costa County by providing furnishings for families who are newly housed by the Shelter, Inc. organization. The families can choose from a supply of good quality, used furniture and household items for their home. The items are then moved for the family into their new home.

Sarajevo Youth House Project: Children who witnessed the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina are trying to heal their lives in a society that offer them few resources. The Sarajevo Youth House Center provides educational, cultural, and sporting activities for children in a safe and emotionally supportive environment. Our church helps to support the ongoing construction of the new facility.

Volunteers in Mission: Through the United Methodist Church Volunteer in Mission Program, volunteers from our church participated in education missions to Sarajevo, Bosnia. Several on-going projects evolved from those trips.
