Missions
“There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.”
1 Corinthians 12:4-5
Whole-hearted love for God...Christ-like love for people.
Methodism has always embraced outreach to the community. This church through out the years has supported missions abroad as well as locally. The outreach of the Missions Work Area in 1993 included support for Bob and Hazel Buckner, missionaries in Nepal, the Harvest Table supporting Share and the Food Bank, United Methodist Committee on Relief, Methodist Pastors and Churches in Bolivia, Internation Christian youth Exchange, Community Outreach Festival, and the Joy of Christmas Giving. We still do many of these things today as we continue to be in mission both locally and globally.
Local mission efforts have included:
- Bus Stop
- Harvest Table
- Project SHARE.
- Contra Costa Council of Churches-Interfaith Council
- Sierra Service Project
- Extended Family
- Christmas Dinner
- Shelter Cooking
- Tool Trailer for housing repairs
Global Mission Efforts have included:
- Bosnian Youth House
- Volunteers on Mission
